Escape from Tarkov’s performance is still heavily dependent on CPU single-core speed, RAM bandwidth, and storage throughput. A misconfigured graphics preset can cut your frame rate in half while providing no meaningful visual benefit. The goal is eliminating the biggest GPU and CPU bottlenecks so that combat decisions — not frame drops — determine your raids.

These settings were evaluated on the Season 1 build (1.0.x). If you updated from an earlier version, reset to defaults first — saved configs from pre-1.0 can carry stale entries that override these recommendations.

FAQ

Does DLSS or FSR help in EFT?

DLSS and FSR increase FPS but reduce image sharpness, making enemy silhouettes at medium distance harder to read. For competitive play, native resolution with TAA is preferred. Only enable upscaling if you are bottlenecked below 60 FPS and cannot improve hardware or other settings first.

What FOV should I use in Escape from Tarkov?

60–65 provides the best balance of peripheral awareness and minimal ADS distortion. The default of 50 is unnecessarily narrow for most players, while values above 70 cause visible sway exaggeration during aimed fire.

Why is EFT still stuttering after these settings?
